Past News and Updates from 2013-2016 |
News and Updates from 2016 November 19th, 2016: The action report for episode #20 is up! I am still aiming for one more action report this month, and the remaining 5 or so in December. I'll do my best! November 7th, 2016: One of the longest action reports has been translated and is ready for viewing! The action report for episode 19 focuses heavily on Team Skylark, and provides insight into how Andrei was able to damage Elissa Doolittle during their race. Pretty interesting stuff! October 25th, 2016: The action report for episode #17 is now live! October 15th, 2016: You may have noticed gradual background updates to earlier action reports. This is in response to the new design featured on newer action reports. So far, episodes 1-7 have received the updated look and episodes 8-14 will follow this month and maybe part of November. Of course, I'll be adding regularly scheduled action reports alongside these updates, so don't worry! October 10th, 2016: The Action Report page for episode 18 is up now. Will do episode 17 later this month. September 26th, 2016: The action report for episode 16 is up, and with it brings an overhauled design to the action report pages. When I was looking back at the action reports that I did for previous episodes, the writing was exciting, but the design looked bland and unappealing. It's amazing what adding some high-res pics can do a webpage. And the font for the report is bigger, which should make for easier reading on cell phones and people with bigger PC monitors and/or higher screen resolutions. So give this new action report a try, and let me know what you think! September 20th, 2016: The next action report is up, this one for episode 15. Check it out! September 8th, 2016: All right, kiddos. As promised, here's the revival of new IGPX Action Reports, with this one from episode 14. Got three more coming in September, so stay tuned! September 3rd, 2016: After many years of talking about doing it and not doing it, today I finally finished all of the redesigns of all of the team pages. With that finished, I'll be able to focus on season 2's Action Reports. Starting next week, I'll be translating one every week. At that pace, I'll be done with all of them before 2017. August 23rd, 2016: I am about halfway through the updated Team Satomi page, so it is still on track to debut this month. In the meantime, I made a new section of the site where I will address questions directed to my Twitter account. Check out the first question and my answer here. August 13th, 2016: Another team page update, this time for Team Velshtein. Expect the final updated team page, for Team Satomi, later this month! August 12th, 2016: Time for another team page update. This time, it's for Team White Snow. July 28th, 2016: Three weeks really flew by there. But there's another new team page available. This time, it's for Team Sledge Mama. July 7th, 2016: Once again, thanks for waiting! The newly updated page for Team Skylark is ready for viewing! May 29th, 2016: Thanks again for your patience with the updates. Today brings the newly redesigned Team Edge Raid page. Check it out! May 3rd, 2016: Thanks for your patience. The team pages are coming along, and today introduces the newly redesigned Team Black Egg page. More to come this month! March 21st, 2016: With the final action report of season 1 up (Episode 13's action report), I'm halfway to getting all of them up. Thanks to all the fan support thus far to make these reports enjoyable to translate again. Despite the hours it takes, you guys make it all worth it. I'll be taking a break from those to work on some new team pages. Please be patient, as they may take some time yet. March 10th, 2016: It's March 10th, so let's put up Episode 10's action report. February 25th, 2016: A small IGPX action report was posted today detailing the history of Ricky Perch and The Rocket. February 9th, 2016: Amazon via the link here. I also completed a new action report for my favorite episode, episode 11. It's one of the longer reports, giving us a closer look at Team Satomi's semi-finals race in the first season of IGPX. To talk of future update plans, action reports for all episodes up to episode 13 are expected to be completed by mid-March. I am planning on completely revamping the Team Info pages during 'spring break', being the end of March and the beginning of April. The remaining action reports for the episodes in Season 2 will take the rest of this year; I hope to stay on track with those! Look forward to more updates! January 20th, 2016: Yeah, I'm still procrastinating that episode 10 action report because it's kind of long. So I did another short one today. It's an interesting one, highlighting how IGPX got started. Read it here. News and Updates from 2015 December 28th, 2015: Just wanted to share Jose Argumedo's clip from IGPX comparing Production I.G.'s cut and Toonami's cut from the same episode. Check that out with the player on the left. You can also pre-order the IGPX DVD set on Amazon here. Sorry for the lack of action reports as December went on. After the holiday season closes, I'll work on getting more reports up, with a goal of having all of season 1 up by the end of February. December 5th, 2015: I was able to squeeze in a short action report today from episode 11. I'll get back to episode 10 in a later update. There may not be many more updates, but I'll do my best since I missed a couple weeks in the middle of November. November 28th, 2015: After a long delay, the next action report is finally available. It's the longest one, and contains a grid of all of the results from the first season of the IGPX races shown in the show. Of course, it includes results from races that Team Satomi was not a part of. Be sure to check that out. Also, the IGPX Complete Collection is available on Right Stuf's website here. Finally, if you have an interest in the ARM X series, the first two books in the series are currently on sale. Here are links to the Amazon Kindle editions: ARM X Book 1 Kindle Edition ARM X Book 2 Kindle Edition November 8th, 2015: And just like that, another round of action reports is available. Check out the new action reports for episode 8 here. November 3rd, 2015: After a two-year hiatus, I completed a brand-new action report today for episode 7. I plan to write at least one a week during the month of November, in preparation for the upcoming IGPX DVD release. You can read more about the action reports on the main page, and also access reports for episodes 1-6 there. The long and short of it is that they are translated text from the Japanese DVD manuals that contain a lot of information and insight that add to the canon of the TV show. This week's action report features a chart of how all the teams performed during the IGPX All-Star Festival during the first season of the series. October 4th, 2015: Here it is, the interview with Jose Argumedo about the upcoming DVD release from Discotek. A big thanks to Jose for giving his time to make this interview possible. It's a cool 73 minutes long, so strap in, grab a snack and enjoy! IGPX Podcast #25 September 23rd, 2015: A few updates today. First is that Jose Argumedo, who became a producer for the upcoming IGPX DVD releases, has graciously offered to do an interview for this site. I currently plan to get that up in early October. In the meantime, you can check out his Tumblr page for a pretty in-depth FAQ regarding the release. The interview will answer more questions regarding his involvement. Also, fans of IGPX may be interested in the ARM X novel series. The creator has just launched a new YouTube channel for the series, which you can check out here, It helps to bring an aural and visual feel to the series. June 3rd, 2015: Thanks to Jose Argumedo for uploading and linking the trailer for the new DVDs being released later this year. You can see the video just under the site's Twitter feed on the left. Enjoy! June 1st, 2015: It was announced yesterday that the Discotek IGPX DVD collection will contain a "remastered" version of the Toonami version of the show, along with the Uncut version of the show. Jose Argumedo, formerly a part of the Toonami Faithful Podcast, will be assisting production in order to have the best version be on the DVD. The trailer that was shown at Momocon is expected to be uploaded online later this week. I'll be sure to link it either here or on Twitter, so check back later this week! News and Updates from 2014 November 24th, 2014: You may have heard through social media, but a company named Discotek Media has licensed the entire IGPX series for sale as a complete bundle sometime next year. This is very exciting news for IGPX. Currently, it's been announced to have the original Japanese audio as well as the English dub and subtitles for the Japanese track. It will likely not include the Toonami version. Fans who have wanted to get their hands on the series will get their chance soon. Let's just hope for a Blu-Ray release (wishful thinking, perhaps...) June 4th, 2014: Doing some music page updates this month by going back through the music pages for each episodes and trying to identify each unknown song. There are some songs that are owned by Ninja Tune that aren't by any specific artist and aren't sold commercially, and I'll be attempting to 'weed' these tracks out of the lists (special thanks to a reader who e-mailed with some clarification on the matter from Ninja Tune). Working on making the music section as complete as possible! February 11th, 2014: Hope to get around to an update (sometime early this year) to the episode guides that I've wanted to do involving some trivia information on things that appear in the episode that perhaps aren't fully explained in the series (i.e. the first part of episode 8 where the IGPX pilots are seen on the moving walkway waving to fans). In the meantime, mecha fans may be interested in a new book in the Universal War: ARM X series available on Amazon now and a sale on the original book. Check it out. News and Updates from 2013 December 15th, 2013: Jason DeMarco, producer of IGPX from Toonami, has announced on the Toonami Tumblr of an IGPX album-esque release. It's called "IGPX: The Ichi Megamix". You can read the original post here. It will be released on the Toonami Tumblr on Christmas, and is to be close to 70 minutes long. It will be comprised of many snippets of songs from the series, mixed with quotes from the show. Check out the newest Toonami Faithful Podcast here for a sneak peek at the first 3-4 minutes of this megamix. Be warned that some of the instrumental songs in the show are presented on this mix in their uncensored form, so there is some harsh language in some of the songs. December 11th, 2013: By request, I have added a music page for the IGPX pilot episodes (mini-series). It is far from complete, and those with applications like Shazam can look up the episodes on YouTube and find the music. If you find any additional songs, and would like to have it shared with the rest of the IGPX world, send me an e-mail. Here is the music credits webpage for the IGPX pilot episodes. November 28th, 2013: Hope you all are continuing to enjoy IGPX on Toonami, even though it does air rather late. If you happen to live in the Aloha state, it's on at 11:30 PM, so it's a great time to catch an awesome series still re-running the first season. In other news, I wanted to highlight a sale beginning tomorrow and running through Monday on a Kindle mecha-based novel that I mentioned a few months ago. The price will drop to $3.99 for the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. Even if you don't have a Kindle, there are many other devices to read Kindle books, including many smartphones and your PC. If you're a mecha fan, don't miss out on this sale. Here's the link: The Road to Betrayal (Universal War: ARM X) Book 1. October 20th, 2013: Here we are-the final two episodes are airing soon! Check out the final two music guide pages. You can use the links from this page. But there are spoilers in the plot, so wait until after the episodes have aired. October 17th, 2013: Well, the final two episodes will air at 2:30 AM and 3 AM On October 20th. As I said in the last update, I will probably not be around to live-tweet the two episodes. It's regrettable, but I'll still get the respective music pages up before they air. October 12th, 2013: I am planning to live-tweet the final episode, which is currently set to premiere October 27th (2:30 AM). Probably won't be tweeting tomorrow or next week. For now, enjoy the music for episode #24. And the episode guides are looking in tip-top shape, if you'd like to check those out. October 6th, 2013: No live-tweeting tonight, but please enjoy IGPX episode #23. Here's the music from that episode. September 28th, 2013: In about 24 hours, Episode 22 will air again on Toonami. It's one of my favorite episodes. There's also a ton of music, so feel free to check out the tunes in this episode here. Really, this episode might set a record for the amount of Ninja Tune music used between the Toonami and Uncut versions. September 20th, 2013: It's a bit early, and actually not 100% done, but here is the music guide for episode 21. Basically, all the songs and links are available, so I'll let you guys see it early. September 14th, 2013: First, the enhanced music guide for Episode 20 was posted. Second, there was an additional song added to the Episode 19 guide. As always, if you think you know a song from an episode that hasn't been listed in the episode guides, let me know. September 7th, 2013: The music guide for Episode 19 was one of the hardest to update, as there are quite a few songs used in the Toonami version and the Uncut version, and most of the songs were different. But anyways, click here to read it. August 24th, 2013: Updating a day early, since it's better than a day late. So here is the Episode 18 Music Guide. Also did even more background updates so that things are looking for spic and span than ever before. So if you haven't cruised around the site in a while, give it a try! August 18th, 2013: Was finally able to tweet during the airing of IGPX today. Didn't get a chance to update the music page until a bit later, so here it is now: Episode 17 Music Guide. August 13th, 2013: Lots of background updates today. The music pages were posted on time, even though I was too lazy to Tweet about it and such. Also wanted to draw your attention to a new book series available on Kindle. It's called ARM X, and looks to be a mecha-type series that fans of IGPX and Toonami may find interest in. The characters seem very fleshed out and there also appears to be a lot of good action scenes. It's available for less than $6 right now. Check it out here! August 1st, 2013: Quite a bit late as I was quite a bit lazy. But here's Episode 14's updated music guide. See you on Saturday for the next episode of IGPX. July 21st, 2013: Enjoy your weekly music update (Ep. 13). I'll try to see if I can get to some more different types of updates later this week. July 14th, 2013: Unfortunately, I won't be around again this week. I'll do my best for next week, but for now, the webpage containing the music for Episode 12 has been posted. July 7th, 2013: I'm going to be out when IGPX is airing, so I am linking the music stuff a little bit early. Actually, if you had searched for Episode 11's music page, you would have found that I posted it in advance. It's my favorite IGPX episode, so in my obsession over the episode I made the music page in advance. In any case, enjoy the page and tonight's great episode! June 30th, 2013: Episode 10's music page is here. June 23rd, 2013: A great IGPX episode with great music. Check it out here. June 16th, 2013: The music webpage for episode 8 is online. Check it out. June 10th, 2013: I posted the music webpage on Saturday for Episode 7. I am planning on getting to the action report for Episode 7 later this week. If I don't, I apologize. And I won't be able to get Episode 8 on time, either. To get back on track with those, I may skip Episode 8 and just focus on posting Episode 9 on time. We'll see. Sorry to those who were enjoying those. You can at least look forward to timely weekly music updates. June 5th, 2013: Well, I posted the music webpage about a week ago for Episode 6. That means it was live before the show aired. Today I got around to finishing the action report for Episode 6. Hopefully I'll stop being lazy and get to episode 7 so that I can post it on Sunday and not the following Wednesday. I am not getting too many views on those reports, so please take a look at them! They tend to go more in-depth than the episodes do. May 29th, 2013: Quick update on the Episode 5 music webpage. Thanks to an e-mail I received, I was able to complete that part of the music website. As always, please send an e-mail or Tweet if you have any submissions or corrections for the music credits. Thanks! May 26th, 2013: In case you don't know, the music website is being completely overhauled. Might be hard to notice, because I am simply giving each episode its own music webpage every week. Of course, that means you can enjoy the music page for Episode 5 here. And please also give the Action Report for Episode 5 a quick read. It's never too much content, but it always takes a while to translate from Japanese to English. May 19th, 2013: Once again, here's the music for the just-aired episode of IGPX: Episode 4 Music Page. And here's the Action Reports page for that episode. Big thanks to one Twitter user for submitting a previously unknown song for episode 4. Of course, if you guys know what any missing tracks are for other episodes, please let me know. May 12th, 2013: Please enjoy the Action Report for Episode 3. A lot of people have been asking about the music on Twitter. As always, you can find a complete list of music for each episode right here on this website. While the songs used are briefly shown at the end of each episode, some tracks are not listed or incorrectly listed. You can check this website for the most complete lists of music. Naturally, I also posted the music for episode 3 here. Expect updates to the music site soon, as each episode will receive its own dedicated music webpage, as they have been receiving so far. May 5th, 2013: The Action Report for Episode 2 is up. And the music for Episode 2 can be seen here on the new webpage for it. Check it out! May 1st, 2013: The third report for the Episode 1 Action Reports was just posted. As with every report so far, it contains a little bit of trivia that was unrevealed by simply watching the show. Be sure to give it a read, and stay tuned for more updates as we approach episode 2 on Toonami. April 28th, 2013: Today was a big day for IGPX because it trended on Twitter as fans talked about the show during Episode 1's premiere tonight. It was reportedly at #1 at one point on Twitter. Thanks to a suggestion from a visitor to this website, I have started using Twitter for this site. You can plainly see the integration of Twitter on the right side of my main page. I'll try to remember to tweet when I make updates to this site. Today's update is the Action Reports for Episode 1. Expect the third report later this week (it's the longest of the three, and they were all originally in Japanese...so be patient, please). Also check out the updates on the music page for Episode 1. There are three major updates to the music part of the website that are in progress. One update is that I will be adding links to all songs to Amazon, so you can easily buy the songs or albums (most are in MP3 format). The second update is I will try to add where in the episode they were heard. The third update is the webpage itself-finally, each episode will get its own dedicated webpage for music. Fancy, huh? Check it out! April 25th, 2013: I mentioned yesterday about Toonami Faithful doing an interview with Jason DeMarco on IGPX just a few days ago, in their podcast. Click here to go to that podcast. It's a good listen. The interview begins at about 23 minutes. April 24th, 2013: A minor update, being the newest podcast. I am a little surprised at myself that I did it, but I guess it was kind of necessary since we now just days away from the "premiere" of the series again. Check it out: Podcast #24. April 11th, 2013: Some minor updates. I changed the Wallpaper page so that it is actually navigable. It was quite ugly before, so I hope you appreciate the streamlined format of the page. It hopefully makes viewing the page much less of an eyesore. And I also changed the background to the site so that the fade from the left to right is more gradual than before. All pages are slowly being updated with this new background. If you're viewing the site on most browsers, you won't have to deal with the sudden color change on the right side of screen any more. April 3rd, 2013: I am slowly working on minor updates this week and next week. That gives me about two more weeks to do slightly more meaningful stuff. I thought this as good an opportunity as any to mention that I have a short URL that you can use to access this website. It's "theigpx.com". Yes, I have an official .com URL for this website. Like igpx.nreviews.com, it will simply bounce you to here. However, the loading is quicker (by like a couple of milliseconds, but still...) and it's easy to remember and easy to type in. Please consider using it from now on to access this website. March 29th, 2013: It was announced this week that IGPX will be re-airing on Toonami in April of 2013. This is the first time since the show's original release that it will have been re-aired. There's so many things I could say, but I'll start by saying that I have many minor layout updates planned for this website. While I may have gotten away with a lot of the layout and organization of this website 7 years ago, the series re-emerging makes it feel like this is a good time to do some spring cleaning. As I have mentioned in previous updates, I'd like to do some work on the team pages, in particular. All of this will take time, but I hope to have a cleaner looking site in time for the "premiere" on April 27th (reportedly April 28th at 2 AM; could be considered "late Saturday night/early Sunday morning"). Thank you for visiting, and I hope to keep this site the biggest and best IGPX fan site on the web! Stay tuned! Past News and Updates: Before 2013 |
