| DVD Features and Extras Review The fourth DVD comes with even less extras than before. The audio commentary that should be featured for one episode is not here. I know it takes time to get people together, but I'd like to hear more about the series. And I should also refer back to my other review where I suggested that they would be better than nothing. On the positive side, the episodes continue to get better as we head into what we consider 'Season 2'. The Japanese side went right into the second season of the IGPX in the show without any breaks like we had. So, the DVD follows suit in deciding how to release the episodes amongst numerous DVD releases. I still don't think there's any excuse for not spreading out the bonus features properly. Each DVD is getting worse and worse in terms of bonus features and we have to start relying on the fact that these episodes are the only content bringing the DVD into our hands. It should be noted that we're not buying DVDs for the extra features. We're buying it to own a part of a series that is great. But a lot of people may be satisfied with simply seeing it on TV. More extra features would at least be more enticing. I don't like how every DVD release gets less and less. Instead of starting the first DVD with so many features, why not spread it out? But in any case, Lance Henriksen gives his views on some topics. He really has honesty and humility in his words, and this is the best interview of the four. And there's still the pilot episode #4 (original mini-series) which is nice. But I hope to see something better, and from what I am hearing of future releases of the Uncut DVDs, you're just going to have to be satisfied with what there is. |
