Pre-E3 2010

I am really excited for E3 2010. Nintendo has got a few great games from beloved series like Metroid and Zelda to show off, and its new DS system. This is also the time for Nintendo to shine. They have a great opportunity to blow us away, like they did around 5 years ago with the Wii (then, the “Revolution”). And I really hope they do.

My favorite video games’ website has grown immensely since its launch around 8 years ago. GameTrailers.com will be having tons of live coverage this year. Almost all of that is in HD. If you’re like me, this means that from your computer you can watch the live press conferences from all of the major companies all live as they occur. It’s going to be great. The one I will be watching, of course, is Nintendo’s. It will begin at 9 AM Pacific time. Here are some predictions (Note: Predictions were updated after Microsoft’s press conference):

-95% chance they will talk about and demonstrate games from Nintendo 3DS

-80% chance that some amount of the new Zelda Wii game will be demonstrated on-stage (aka, not just a trailer)
–50% chance it will be playable on the show floor

- 30% chance there will be, at the very least, an announcement of some sort about another Nintendo console

-25% chance for a Wii HD announcement

-80% chance for a Pikmin 3 (Wii) unveiling

-60% chance a first-party series will see a new title (i.e. Mario Party, Star Fox)

So, what do you guys think? Hoping for all of these things, of course, but we’ll have to wait and see what Nintendo reveals. I am hoping for, and expecting a lot from them. Do your thing, Nintendo. See you guys next week!

Nice predictions, but I think some stats may be a little off…
Here’s my adjustments, in as close to original form as I can get:

    - 100% chance they will talk about and demonstrate games from Nintendo 3DS

    - 100% chance that there will be a trailer for the new Zelda Wii game (no on-stage demo)
    - (0% chance it will be playable on the show floor)

    - 10% chance there will be a mention of another Nintendo console (excluding the 3DS)

    - 25% chance for a Wii HD announcement

    - 40% chance a first-party series will see a new title (i.e. Mario Party, Star Fox, [Pikmin here])

Regardless of what’s to come, I’m excited to see how it turns out!
